UPEI Workforce Strategy Research Group
The vision for UPEI Workforce Strategy Research Group is to encourage a strategic and evidence-based approach to research and professional education. This perspective provides the basis for managing the PEI workforce to compete effectively by using the best available evidence on what works as well as providing the capacity to identify and respond to emerging challenges such as labour force productivity and impending labour shortages.
It is proposed that the UPEI Workforce Strategy Research Group willl contribute in the provincial economic growth and prosperity plan, organizations and the community at large through research and educational delivery. The UPEI Workforce Strategy Research Group will concentrate on developing research programs and educational offerings to support the community at large in PEI. Under the umbrella of Workforce Strategies, the Group will provide a broad context in which to explore workforce dynamics and provide support for the community. More specifically, the Group will develop research and education that is guided by both macro and micro aspects of SHRM in order to focus on the management of human resources for sustainability.
