
Mike is an Assistant Professor at the School of Business where he teaches Entrepreneurship and Financial Accounting. His past work experience contributes to the knowledge and enthusiasm he brings to the students both inside and outside of the classroom.
Mike has worked in the corporate marketing department of Texaco Canada Inc; received his chartered accountancy designation with a local PEI public accounting office; co-owned and operated a mid-size international transportation company; operated a diversified training and consulting practice through his companies Cassidy Associates and Focus Marketing Inc. and has completed Charlottetown's largest private heritage development project with the restoration of Great George Street's "Inns on Great George" situated in Historic Charlottetown , the "Birthplace of Confederation".
Most recently Mike has taken upon the challenge of re-establishing the industry of recycled plastic manufacturing on Prince Edward Island with the development of EnviroAge Plastic Industries Ltd. in 2004. Also as co-owner of motor coach company, Trius Tours Ltd., Mike has lead the efforts to help establish and implement Charlottetown's first official transit system in October 2005.
Mike is fortunate to be able to take his energy and business experience into the classroom of UPEI, where he is presently a member of the School of Business Faculty teaching the Accounting and Entrepreneurship classes.
