Amy MacFarlane brings over a decade of experience in public practice and a passion for accounting to her role as an Assistant Professor with the School of Business. Her current course offerings include:Intermediate Financial Accounting and Accounting Theory.

Prior to joining the faculty at UPEI, Amy was a Senior Manager in the audit practice of KPMG Cayman Islands where she managed a complex portfolio of audit clients with assets under management in excess of US$40 billion. She specialized primarily in the areas of structured finance, alternative investments, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). She has also worked in the consulting practice of MRSB Chartered Accountants, Charlottetown, and the audit and tax practices of Ernst & Young, Vancouver.

Convergence to international financial reporting standards; accounting education; accounting ethics; and, corporate governance and fraud prevention.
